Here I am, the night before I leave, and I can not sleep for the life of me! I've got butterflies in my tummy! I am way too excited. And at the same time I am terrified that I am going to forget something really important.. so I keep listing things to myself. I got all of my crap into two suitcases, and they are both under 50lbs so I am amazed at that. I was told to try and bring just one.. and in words of John Travolta in Grease: "Don't make me laugh. Ha.. ha.. ha." That was in no way, shape, or form going to happen. My shoes alone take up half of one of those big hunkers!
So the not being able to sleep thing has caused me to pick up the pamphlets they gave me before leaving about being abroad. One is titled "Women." Here is a useful piece of advise... "Learn what behaviors are associated with prostitution and avoid them." Now there's a shocker. It also says that "many other cultures have the impression that U.S. women are loose and looking for sexual adventure." So... I haven't even gotten there and I already have a bad rep? Fabulous. Thank you to those American women who went to Europe and slutted it up and gave us all a bad name. Why can't I be from China like half the other internationals that are coming? Oh yeah, because the U.S. freaking ROCKS! -- that was for you Cando. (By the way.. thank you Lindsey, Candace and Kirsten for skyping me tonight! Definitely made me feel better!!)
I guess I should try and get some sleep. Mom and I are getting up around 7am to finalize all packing, have time for her to throw random things in my bags (like jars of peanuts), time for me to dig them out, go see Dad at his office and have a tear fest in front of his patients, eat breakfast at Le Peeps, at get me to the airport by around 10am. As always thanks for reading. Next time you read something I PROMISE I will be somewhere cool and have some pictures to show you! Until then...

P.s. Sorry english teachers for no parenthetical documentation when quoting those pamphlets... but this is my blog. Be happy I even used quotation marks.
